Stowe Youth Hockey 23-24 Season

Stowe Youth Hockey 23-24 Season Registration - GREAT SEASON STARTS HERE!

Welcome to the SYH 23-24 Registration

THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR LTP, 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U GIRLS.

14U coed has a WAITLIST at the moment. If you want to add your player to the waitlist please email registrar@stoweyouthhockey.com

The Stowe Youth Hockey Board of Directors has been working hard in preparation for a fun, exciting, and competitive 2023-2024 hockey season!  We will have USA Hockey Certified coaches coaching each team. SYH's goal is to have each child learn the great game of hockey while having fun on and off the ice. Hockey is a life sport. Our teams consist of players from Lamoille County, Washington County and beyond.

Girls Program

If you have a girl who wants to play on 10U girls or 12U girls teams, please sign her up for the 10U or 12U program.  We will assign the girls to the girls teams at a later date. If your daughter is a 14U player there is a separate 14U girls option in the payment option.

If your daughter is an 8U Travel player and prefers to play with girls versus co-ed, we have PLENTY of 8U girls & coaches this season to create an 8U Travel division within the 8U team. Since VSAHA does not officially designate 8U Girls Division, so to speak, this is something that our 8U coaches & schedulers are already discussing and working on and you will be contacted separately.

SYH plans to offer the following teams for the 2023-24 Season:

Learn to Play (birth years 2011-2019): once a week or twice a week options available, basic skating ability required, hockey gear is needed and SYH has loaner gear available as needed.

6U( birth years 2017 and 2018): multiple weekly practices with lots of fun drills that are age appropriate.

8U House co-ed (birth years 2015-2016): multiple weekly practices with a limited number of HOME GAMES playing scrimmages with the SYH 8U House team.

8U Travel  (birth years 2015-2016): multiple weekly practices with one to two games per weekend and a possible end of the season tournament. Roughly half the games will be AWAY throughout Vermont. SYH can have multiple 8U travel teams divided up by age, ability & girls depending on what the opposing team has and how the SYH 8U coaches feel it is best for the players. 8U Girls will not necessarily only play other girls’ teams as this is based on overall registration in the state of Vermont.

10U (birth years 2013-2014): multiple weekly practices plus weekly Skills Session with Coach Ian Smith, one to two games per weekend and an end of the season tournament with one additional tournament. SYH plans to offer a 10u girls team, 10U tier 4 team, and a 10u tier 3 team.

12U (birth years 2011-2012): multiple weekly practices plus weekly Skills Session with Coach Ian Smith, one to two games per weekend and an end of the season tournament with one additional tournament. SYH plans to offer a 12u girls team, a 12U tier 4 team, and a 12U tier 3 team.

14U coed (birth years 2009-2010): multiple weekly practices plus weekly Skills Session with Coach Ian Smith, one to two games per weekend and an end of the season tournament with one additional tournament. SYH plans to offer one 14u coed team.

14u girls (birth year 2009-2010): multiple weekly practices plus weekly Skills Session with Coach Ian Smith with typically one game per weekend (less than the 14u coed team) plus an end of the season tournament.

For our 10u to 14u teams, evaluations will take place in October to organize the players into appropriate teams (pursuant to numbers allowing for multiple teams).

VOLUNTEERING

Stowe Youth Hockey is a volunteer-board run 501c(3) organization that aims to provide skating opportunities to all children. We have players who live throughout Lamoille and Washington Counties. In order to keep the registration costs as low as possible, cover coach training, maintain & purchase equipment including pucks, practice jerseys and nets & provide financial support, Stowe Youth Hockey runs multiple fundraising events throughout the calendar year. We run on volunteers in order for our events to be successful.  In addition, every home game requires volunteers whom we will happily train! Lastly, we have many committees run by board members that need volunteers!  Volunteering is a great way to learn the game, meet new people, support your kids and the program.

All Stowe Youth Hockey families are REQUIRED to volunteer at these events and/or on committees, as well as at games unless a family pays the Volunteer Opt out fee. This option is found at the payment section of the registration. Please expect to be asked to volunteer many times throughout the season.

GOALIE DISCOUNT

If your player is 10u or older and is a full-time goalie he or she will receive a 50% rebate at the end of the season. The goalies will be listed by the coaches and the rebate will need the approval of the President.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Stowe Youth Hockey offers partial and full scholarships to any player who needs one. Stowe Youth Hockey's goal is to never turn a player away due to financial constraints. Please contact Chessie Roy at registrar@stoweyouthhockey.com  for more information on scholarships that are available.

REGISTER NOW!!!!

Register now and save! We strongly encourage all participants to register by July 15, 2023 in order to take advantage of the early registration price. Signing up early helps the coaches and team schedulers prepare for a great season.  After July 15th, the fee for registration for most age groups increases by $100.

UNIFORMS

All Stowe Youth Hockey players 10u and older will need to have a set of away and home jerseys as well as away and home socks. If your player is new to SYH or is in need of a new uniform please make note of that need during the registration process. The estimated cost for the set of jerseys and socks is $142. Loaner jerseys are available as an alternative to purchasing a set. It is a goal of SYH to give each player one of their top 3 number choices but is not a guarantee.  It is suggested to order one or two sizes up so as your player grows the jerseys can be used for more than one season.

For all uniform questions please email Chessie Roy at registrar@stoweyouthhockey.com
